Expectations of HHM and Helsinki
When I heard about HHM for the first time last year, I couldn’t imagine, that I’d take part in it – Helsinki seemed very far away, unattainable, to go there for a half-marathon. In the meantime, however, I managed to visit the capital of Finland. In September last year when I flew to Tallinn (Estonia) for a marathon, I went on a one-day ferry trip to Helsinki. The city has made a fantastic impression on me, so now – a few weeks before the start in HHM, I can’t wait to go back there!
What are my expectations for the Helsinki Half Marathon?
This will be third foreign marathon in my life (I ran in Olomouc, Czech Republic and in Rijeka, Croatia). Each of these runs is full of emotions and wonderful memories that stay for a very long time – I am convinced that in the case of HHM it will be the same. What is certain: a sensational, beautiful route, this year’s amazing medal and probably a very good organization. I think it will be colorful, international, but on the other hand, also relatively intimate. I can’t wait!
And what do I expect from Helsinki itself? First of all, I am happy that I will have the opportunity to visit them during the race! Running along the waterfront, along the sea, will be a big attraction for me, I am looking forward to seeing the biggest tourist attractions. I also plan to go to Allas Sea Pool and of course eat delicious, fried fish on Kauppatori!
Fortunately, time goes by quickly and soon I will be able to stand at the HHM start!
